Realmly Terms of Service

Last updated and effective: 20 October 2026.

1. About Realmly

Realmly is operated by Peter 'Rageypeep' Deacon, operating in the United Kingdom. These terms cover the Realmly website, character-profile and social features, and use of the Realmly online service through its Companion and addon.

Realmly is an independent fan project. It is not operated, sponsored, approved or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment, Battle.net, Microsoft or the operators of WoW Forever. Their names, games, artwork and marks belong to their respective owners. Using Realmly does not grant permission to use any third-party property beyond the rights its owner or applicable law provides.

For service questions, privacy concerns, content/rights reports and appeals, contact [email protected].

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed. Accepting these terms is not blanket consent to optional tracking, marketing or unrelated AI use. Other services, including Battle.net and Microsoft Store, have their own terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be 18 or older to create or use a Realmly account, connect the Companion or submit information to the service. This is Realmly's rule, separate from the game's age rating. Do not use another person's account to bypass it.

Sign in through the official Battle.net flow. We do not need your Battle.net password. Protect your account, Windows user account and Companion upload tokens; do not share tokens or allow others to impersonate you. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are not automatically responsible for activity caused by a failure of our security or by another person's wrongdoing.

Only connect characters and upload records you are entitled to manage. Do not claim another player's character or misrepresent your identity or affiliation. Character-based posting does not guarantee anonymity: names, realms and the information you publish may identify you.

3. What the service does

Realmly lets you record supported adventures, upload gameplay records, maintain character profiles and discoveries, publish chronicles or status updates, and interact through comments, reactions and follows. Availability depends on the supported client, addon/app version, game APIs and external services.

The addon saves records locally. It does not itself upload them. The Companion or website sends a selected snapshot when you upload; a file can contain several characters, previous sessions and party-member character names. A local "new" counter does not mean only those records are sent.

Automatic Companion uploads are optional and can be switched off. They submit records, not automatically published AI stories. Uploading can nevertheless create/update a public profile, profile information or map discoveries before you publish a chronicle. Review the Privacy Policy before uploading.

Keep your own copies of important records and writing. Realmly is not a permanent archive, a substitute for your own backups or a guarantee of complete gameplay tracking. This does not remove our responsibility to use reasonable care.

We will not introduce a charge for you without clearly explaining it and obtaining the agreement required by law. Any future paid offer needs its own clear price, payment, cancellation and applicable consumer-rights information.

4. Your content and permission to operate the service

You retain any rights you hold in your original posts, notes, comments and other contributions. We do not claim ownership of your character, Blizzard's property or other people's work.

You give Realmly a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, copy, format, transmit and display your submitted content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure and maintain the service you use. That includes displaying public posts/profiles, making backups, and sending the relevant summary to the AI provider when you request story generation. Necessary service providers may perform those functions for us; this is not permission to sell your writing or use it for unrelated advertising or model training.

This permission ends when the relevant content is removed, apart from copies reasonably needed to complete deletion, expire existing backups, handle a specific dispute or meet a legal obligation. Backup handling is explained in the Privacy Policy. Deletion cannot remove copies independently retained by other people or search services.

You must have the rights or other lawful basis needed for what you submit. Do not assume that knowing someone's character name authorises sharing their real-world identity, private messages or sensitive information. People mentioned in records can contact us even if they do not have a Realmly account.

5. AI-generated chronicles

Generation and retries send a selected adventure summary to the AI provider, as described in the Privacy Policy. Do not include passwords, real-world contact details or sensitive information in notes/personality fields intended for AI.

AI can invent events, misstate facts or produce unsuitable text. Review and edit a draft before publishing it, especially references to other players. Do not present generated text as verified reporting or professional advice. You may choose not to publish a generated draft.

We do not guarantee that AI output is unique, accurate, free from third-party rights or eligible for copyright protection. Any rights that exist are governed by applicable law and relevant provider terms; Realmly does not claim ownership of your original contributions merely because you use generation.

6. Community and acceptable use

You must not use Realmly to:

Follow applicable game/platform rules as well. Realmly does not authorise cheating, botting, account trading or other conduct prohibited by those platforms.

7. Reports, moderation and appeals

To report content or an account, contact the service contact in section 1. Include the URL or character/post details, what concerns you and enough context to assess the report. Never send passwords or upload tokens. For a rights complaint, identify the affected work/right and explain your authority to raise the issue.

We may restrict visibility, remove content or suspend relevant features/accounts where reasonably necessary to address these terms, protect people/security, respond to a substantiated rights complaint or comply with law. We aim to act proportionately and consider relevant context, rather than removing access arbitrarily. We do not promise that every contribution is reviewed in advance.

Where appropriate, we will explain a restriction and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond or appeal using the same contact. An explanation may be delayed or limited where necessary to avoid harm, protect others' information, preserve a security investigation or comply with law. We may act immediately where a risk or legal requirement makes that necessary.

8. Stopping use and deletion

You can stop using Realmly, turn off automatic uploads and disable/uninstall the addon or Companion. Those actions do not by themselves delete server records or local SavedVariables, or necessarily revoke an existing Companion token.

Character deletion is available in character settings. It removes the selected Realmly character profile and associated records handled by that action, not your WoW character or Battle.net account. For account-wide deletion, other privacy requests or compromised authorisations, contact [email protected]. Details and legal exceptions are in the Privacy Policy.

Deleting a Realmly profile does not delete the original records on your computer. Uploading those records again may recreate it. Stop uploads and remove local records you no longer want to send.

9. Software, updates and third-party services

Use official Realmly distribution locations and keep software current. Close the game before addon installation/update and follow the stated file-selection instructions. Client changes can affect compatibility and tracking accuracy.

The Store edition of the Companion uses Microsoft Store distribution/updates; portable editions have their own update mechanism. These terms do not replace or narrow a separate open-source licence supplied with software, or remove any rights granted by that licence. Third-party components retain their own licences.

Realmly relies on external services for sign-in, information, artwork, generation and distribution. We cannot control their decisions or guarantee uninterrupted availability. Tell us about problems so we can investigate what is within our control. We do not guarantee that a game/platform operator approves any specific use of Realmly; check the rules applicable to your game/client.

10. Availability, changes and closure

We will use reasonable care in running Realmly, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, complete records, error-free software or permanent availability. We may need maintenance or changes for compatibility, security, legal requirements or the sustainable operation of the project.

For a material reduction or planned closure, we will give reasonable notice where practicable and explain available ways to preserve your content. Urgent security, legal or external-service problems can require immediate action. We will not use this clause to avoid an obligation that applicable law requires us to meet.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected.

We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, to the extent required by applicable law. A loss is foreseeable if it was obvious or both sides reasonably knew it might happen when the agreement was made.

We do not guarantee another user's conduct or the accuracy of their posts. This does not excuse our own legal obligations when unlawful or harmful activity is reported or otherwise requires action. You are responsible for your own unlawful conduct; these terms do not impose an unlimited indemnity on you for any complaint.

12. Changes to these terms and complaints

We will date and publish updated terms, explain material changes appropriately, and seek fresh agreement where required. Changes are not retroactive: they do not turn previously permitted conduct into a breach or remove accrued rights. You may stop using the service if you do not wish to accept a proposed change.

Please contact us if something goes wrong. We will consider complaints fairly and try to resolve them. These terms do not require private arbitration, waive group/collective remedies, stop you approaching a regulator or restrict access to a court or protection available to you under applicable law.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms apply only insofar as they can fairly and lawfully stand without it. These terms do not override the law.
