Redridge on Fire

I never imagined a morning in Redridge would end with the valley smoldering and my heart hammering like a war drum. Bravo Company trusted me with their field kit and, before I could blink, I was gardening for camouflage, diving for muckdweller glands, and sneaking keys out of caves. There was a moment I learned to treat explosives like tools instead of toys — I planted seaforium charges, set the timer, and watched a Blackrock munitions hut and tower become ash. It felt terrible and...necessary. When Keeshan handed me the detonator, I did what needed doing.

The tower of Ilgalar held secrets and a traitor magus named Doane. Using Fangore’s key I climbed that cursed place and finished the job the way Bravo Company expects: no mercy for traitors. Glory was hollow, because we buried friends in spirit if not in earth; the field radio keeps reminding me of their names. Between skirmishes I found time to sharpen my skills — new tricks came easier, and I even learned how to smelt silver in Stormwind. I hit level 26 today, and the climb to each new rung tastes of iron and truth. I fell once on this run, but I stood back up and kept moving; that’s the hunter’s way.
